The City of Bridgeport is investing in its future by focusing on education.
Five new Pre-K through 8 schools have been completed in 2008 and we have completed renovations to 25 other schools. The older schools have served the children of Bridgeport for nearly 100 years but no longer meet the needs of a 21st century education.
New schools projects are being planned as an obvious sign that a city cares about its students, its teachers, its neighborhoods, and its future. Bridgeport’s school projects are being designed to serve both as learning centers and as community centers where children learn and play, neighbors congregate, and families enjoy time together. These beautiful buildings will promote civic pride and encourage others in the community to improve their properties as well.
By working together, Bridgeport’s leaders have launched an effort that will serve as a catalyst for ongoing change throughout the city’s many neighborhoods for many years to come. This is a new beginning for the city of Bridgeport.
